The United States Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) has updated its messaging system to improve the security and authenticity of its communications. The agency now sends notifications from the email address uscis@messages.dhs.gov instead of the previous “@public.govdelivery.com” domain. This change, effective June 18, aims to prevent fraud and increase trust in your communications.

The messages are now written as bulletins on behalf of DHS Secretary Alejandro N. Mayorkas and USCIS Director Ur M. Jaddou, reinforcing the reliability of the information.

Use of Form I-9

Federal law requires all employers in the United States to complete Form I-9 to verify the identity and employment eligibility of each new employee, whether citizen or not. Employers and employees must complete the form, and the employer must review documents that prove the identity and authorization of the worker.

This measure reinforces the authenticity of USCIS communications, protecting both employers and employees from potential fraud and ensuring that official information is easily identifiable.
