A preliminary report indicates that, despite the rhetoric, the number of deportations during President Joe Biden's administration could surpass those of the previous administration.

Since June, following the executive order to restrict asylum at the border, deportations have increased.

Various lawyers agree that immigration reform and a more accessible asylum process are needed for immigrants seeking to work and enter the country legally.

During the Trump administration, ICE deported over 935,000 immigrants. In the current administration, the figure is 340,000, excluding deportations by the Border Patrol, which conducted over three million "enforcement actions" in the previous term.

To reduce the risk of deportation, immigration experts advise asylum seekers to use existing programs like Humanitarian Parole or appointments through the CBP One app.
