Obtaining US citizenship through parents is possible if certain criteria are met. Children must be under 18 years of age and have at least one parent as a U.S. citizen by birth or naturalization.
Eligibility Requirements:
- Must be under 18 years old.
- Have at least one US citizen parent (including adoptive).
- The father must meet physical presence requirements in the US.
- The child must be under the legal and physical guardianship of the parent who holds United States citizenship.
Procedure:
- Download and complete Form N-400, application for naturalization.
- Attend the biometric data appointment.
- Carry out English language and civic knowledge assessments.
- Attend the celebration of the commitment of fidelity.
Children of US military personnel who reside outside the country can complete the entire process from abroad.
