  • Have had a Canadian visitor visa in the last 10 years.
  • Possess a valid US nonimmigrant visa, such as the B1/B2 tourist visa.
  • Have a valid Canadian work or study permit.

It is important to highlight that the Mexicans who are traveling with a US visa and wish to use the ETA to enter Canada, They must do so exclusively by air, since this authorization is only valid at airports.

 

Those attempting to enter by land or sea must obtain a visa.

 

 

WHO ARE THE MEXICANS WHO DO NOT NEED TO APPLY FOR THE CANADIAN VISA?

 

An additional group of Mexicans Those who are exempt from applying for a Canadian visa are those who have a second citizenship of a country to which Canada does not require a visa.

 

According to the Ministry of Immigration, Refugees, and Citizenship of Canada (IRCC), a Mexican will not need a visitor visa to Canada if you meet any of these conditions:

 

  • Have Mexican and Canadian citizenship, in which case you will only need a valid Canadian passport.
  • Have a second citizenship from a visa-exempt country, other than Canada or United States.  In this case, you may request an ETA to fly to Canada using the passport of the visa-exempt country.
  • People who do not need a visa to enter their territory are the countries of Andorra, Australia, Austria, Bahamas, Barbados, Belgium, Brunei, Bulgaria, Chile, Croatia, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hong Kong, Hungary, Iceland, Ireland, Israel, Italy, Japan, Republic of Korea, Latvia, Liechtenstein, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, Monaco, Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Papua New Guinea, Poland, Portugal, Romania (passport holders only), Samoa, San Marino, Singapore, Slovakia, Slovenia, Solomon Islands, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Taiwan, United Arab Emirates and Vatican City State.
  • If you are Mexican and have the citizenship of these countries, you can travel to Canada by plane without the need to obtain a visa.  To do this, you must process an Electronic Travel Authorization (ETA) through the official online page.

WHAT IS THE ETA?

 

 

The ETA is an entry requirement for all visa-exempt foreign citizens traveling to Canada By plane.  This procedure is carried out easily online and is electronically linked to the passenger's passport.  It is valid for up to five years or until the passport expires, whichever comes first, and costs $7. Canadians.
