Through its official web site, the entity communicated an important new development

Recently, the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) announced an important development regarding one of the forms that must be filed to obtain a green card. As indicated by the entity in a statement released through the official website, from now on the I-693 form completed as of November 1 of last year will have no expiration date and may be used as proof indefinitely.

Throughout the world, millions of people dream of obtaining a permanent residency card in the U.S. and thus gaining the ability to build a life in the North American country. In that sense, migrants must face multiple requirements and forms that must be submitted correctly in order to obtain the green card. As time goes by, Uscis frequently updates and modifies its requirements.

This is what happened with the Form I-693, Immigration Medical Examination Report and Vaccination Record. This documentation, which includes an evaluation of the immigrant conducted by a professional to determine that the applicant is not inadmissible for health reasons, had a certain period of validity. This will now be changed.

The I-693 form will have no validity limit for green card processing

According to what Uscis reported on its official website, the copies of this documentation that have been completed and signed as of November 1, 2023 will be valid indefinitely. Until now, this form could be used for two years by an applicant and, after that time, it had to be completed again.

In the statement, the entity also clarified that a new I-693 may be requested if the Uscis authorities consider that the migrant's health condition has changed since this report was signed or if it does not accurately present the migrant's actual health status.
