USCIS has extended the initial registration period for the FY 2025 H-1B visa cap. The initial registration period, which opened at noon Eastern Time on March 6, 2024, and was originally scheduled to run until noon Eastern Time on March 22, 2024, will now close at noon Eastern Time on March 25, 2024. USCIS is aware of a temporary system outage experienced by some registrants and is extending the registration to provide additional time due to this issue.
During this period, potential petitioners and their representatives, if applicable, must use a USCIS online account to electronically register each beneficiary for the selection process and pay the associated registration fee for each beneficiary. USCIS still intends to notify registrants on or before March 31, 2024.
On February 28, 2024, we launched new USCIS accounts for organizations that allow individuals within an organization, as well as their legal representatives, to collaborate on and prepare H-1B registrations, H-1B petitions, and any Form I-907, Application of Priority Processing Service. A new account for organizations is required to participate in the H-1B Electronic Registration Process. For additional information and resources, please see the updated information on page Frequently Asked Questions about Accounts for Organizations.

To guide organizations and representatives through this new process, we launched our Tech Talks in February 2024. During these sessions, people can ask questions about accounts for organizations and online filing of Form I- 129 for H-1B petitions. We encourage all persons involved in the registration and filing process of H-1B petitions to attend these sessions. You can find additional information and dates on the page Upcoming National Links.
