More than 11,000 people from around the world will take the oath as U.S. citizens in ceremonies organized by the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) during the week of July 4th, including a special event on Independence Day.

These ceremonies symbolize a significant milestone for both the new citizens and the nation. They represent the culmination of a long process for those who have met legal requirements and demonstrated their commitment to the United States. USCIS organizes these events to welcome new citizens and highlight the benefits of U.S. citizenship.

USCIS Requests for New Citizens

USCIS makes several requests to those who have recently received citizenship:

  • Visit the USCIS Website: Find useful resources and guides for your new life as a citizen on the USCIS Citizenship page.

  • Share Your Story: Upload a photo, video, or account of your experience as a new citizen on social media and tag USCIS accounts: Twitter (@uscis_es), Instagram (@uscis.es), and Facebook (@USCIS). Use the hashtag #NewUSCitizen so your story can be shared with others.

  • Read the Citizen's Almanac: Download this important resource on the rights and responsibilities of U.S. citizenship in Spanish from the USCIS website.

These requests are designed to help new citizens integrate and fully participate in their new life in the United States.
